another band out of Gothenburg, Sweden (home of Little Dragon), The Elliots have been together since 1990. their new album Love|Decay, which will be released on June 10, is being reviewed as a noirish, agitant, anthemic rock spectacle that could fill stadiums. but this first release, When Evil Happens, is more in the vein of The Swell Season
a mostly even-handed and emotive duet with Swedish chanteuse, Camela Leierth, the song soars into a slightly cathartic vocal flurry midway, before settling back down into the path it started out on. there aren’t enough of these songs these days, so i grab them whenever i can. see what you think.
